646f9e108c The convoluted continuation of the adventures of the time-traveling, now-human Monkey King, who attempts to fulfill his divine destiny. This sequel to "Pandora's Box" continues director Jeffrey Lau's adaptation of the Buddhism saga "Journey to the West". Stranded five centuries in the past, Joker Monkey King must battle a variety of monsters, seductive women and super-powered villains to save the dying Pak Jing-Jing. Someone may think it is a love story while someone may think it is a comedy. But I think it is a sort of tragedy full of sarcasm.I think it is the best Chinese movie I've ever seen.It is totally worth watching. If you really give it a time to think about this movie,I promise you can gain a lot from it.It is way better than Journey to the West.

Sometimes you will feel lonely even when you are successful.Sometimes you have to accept the fact that you cherished and loved is gone because they didn't belong to you any more.Sometimes when you finally got what you've always wanted but it doesn't matter now because the one you loved is gone,so what's the point of all these efforts?Sometimes in order to succeed,we have to give up something that may seemed unimportant in the first place but after we made it,you would be painful to find out that all things you once gave up has been always important, you just got blind and didn't notice that.

If you really catch the meaning of this movie, well, congratulations. Cuz you are really grown-up .ENJOY IT!!!!It's full of joys and tears. This second part doesn't waste time in continuing the story. No summary of the first part which would be have been very welcome. Since the plot of this part is even more chaotic and confusing. But even then everything is stillenjoyablethe first part. The typical Stephen Chow humor is solid and hilariousever although I must admit that the first movie was funnier. But that is not criticism just a matter of taste and preference. Again Stephen Chow and director Jeffrey Lau succeed in combining different genres. Although it has to be said that they did a better job of this in Pandora's Box. The serious love theme isn'tconvincingit was in the first part (mainly because of the confusing plot). Despite this flaw everything is wrapped up nicely to everybody's satisfaction! If you ever had doubts about Stephen Chow's brilliance surely A Chinese Odyssey should prove to you that his Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle weren't flukes. After having seen many of his movies it is safe to say he has been very consistent and perhaps not been given enough credit for what he has brought to Hong Kong Cinema.
